Dining out, enjoying good food with some good company can be a great entertainment alternative. For restaurants, it’s an opportunity to attract new customers and show off delectable dishes. For the customers however, it’s about finding a place where the service standards are just as important as the food coming from the kitchen. Here are four tips to get good service wherever you eat out this week.
1. Smile
Friendliness goes both ways. Though the server is trained to be friendly and professional having a smile on your face makes serving you a little bit easier.
2. Mind your manners
The server is there to serve but that doesn’t mean you have to be rude. Say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ and don’t order the server around as if he/she is your personal butler. When you’re getting good service, don’t hold back on the compliments either.
3. Be patient
If the restaurant is crowded, the waiting time might be longer than you anticipated. A good server will keep you updated on what’s happening with your meal and how long it will take.
4. Leave a tip
Don’t be a Grinch. Unless the service was ridiculously distasteful, leave a tip for the server.
